Volvo truck deliveries rose 29% in January and February due to strong demand in key its North American and European markets, the truck maker told Reuters.

Volvo delivered 33,508 trucks in the period, up from 25,990 a year earlier.

“Deliveries remained high during the first two months of the year, particularly in North America, where we posted a full 66 percent increase,” chief executive Leif Johansson reportedly said in a statement, adding: “We are working continually with streamlining our production in North America to cope with the high demand.”

Reuters noted that the Volvo group includes vehicles sold under its own name as well as the Renault and Mack brands.

Deliveries of Volvo Trucks rose 31% while US Mack shipments increased 70% and Renault Trucks deliveries rose 14%, the report said.
