Chinese automaker Geely has visited Saab Automobile which General Motors is selling, a Swedish media report said on Monday.
Dagens Industri, citing unnamed sources, also said 10 potential suitors from the group of 27 parties Saab said earlier this month it had signed confidentiality agreements with had been asked to provide more details of their intentions, Reuters reported.
“Representatives for Geely were at Saab for an entire day,” the source was quoted as saying. A number of US-based investment firms had also visited the carmaker for presentations.
GM has said it plans to cut ties to Saab by 1 January, 2010 and GM CEO Fritz Henderson said later on Monday that GM was confident Saab’s future would be resolved during 2009.
