Autoliv is reportedly preparing to raise airbag inflator production capacity in the wake of Takata’s widening faulty airbag recall.

An Autoliv spokesman told Reuters that the company is prepared to increase capacity to meet increased need. Shares in Autolive have gained in response to the widening Takata recall.

Reuters reported that Autoliv said earlier this year that it has targeted an additional production capacity of up to 25m airbag inflators for delivery in 2015 and 2016 as a result of earlier Takata recalls.
