Subaru of America has completed its new US$118m US headquarters in Camden, New Jersey, which the company hopes will usher in a new period of growth in this market.
Subaru is in the process of moving from its current overcrowded headquarters in Cherry Hill, also in New Jersey, to the new modern facilities which will accommodate a number of departments on large open plan floors.
Its current headquarters workforce of 500 will be transferred there by May and a further 100 new jobs will be added over the next decade.
The US is Subaru's largest single market with sales last year rising by over 5% to 647,956 units from 615,132 sales in 2016. In Japan, it sold 176,737 units last year, up by over 13% on the previous year, while its European operations reported flat sales of just over 35,000 units.
The company aims to increase US sales to 800,000-850,000 units per year in the next decade, to claim a 5% slice of total sales.
