Tata Motors is bravely attempting a brand relaunch in the collapsed Spanish market.

Nijuler Automoción, the new importer for the Pune-based vehicle manufacturer, has announced pricing of €7,960 (including tax and delivery charges) for its first model, the Vista.

First launched in the home market as the Indica Vista in 2008, this B-segment five-door hatchback changed names to coincide with its first facelift in September 2011.

The Spanish market, once a rising star for vehicle sales in the European Union, remains recessed. In April, passenger vehicle registrations numbered only 56,250 units according to ACEA. Compared to the 71,805 cars sold in April 2011, itself a poor month, that represents a YoY fall of 21.7%. For the year to date, sales of new passenger vehicles stand at 260,369 units.
