A Basque motor industry supplier is investing EUR12.5m in a factory in Slovakia.


Industrias Amaya Telleria will produce steel and aluminium cast components, according to Basque website eitb24.com.


It is reported the factory will employ 200 people and supply Renault, PSA Peugeot, Citroen, Seat, Ford and General Motors.


The facility will be based in Sucany, in the Zilina region of central Slovakia, and should be up and running early in 2006.


Industrias Amaya Telleria is conducting a two-phase installation process.

Phase one has already begun, involving the construction of the machining workshop and phase two will involve the installation of the 1,200-ton-capacity aluminium-casting workshop.


According to the report, other foreign companies are also setting up in the Zilina region, including US bearing manufacturer Glacier Garlock Bearings, who invested EUR8m in a factory employing about 150 people.
