If the Christmas lights go out in Madrid and Barcelona, the Spanish cities will perhaps be able to call on local carmaker Seat to help out.
The company has invested EUR17m installing 20,000 solar panels at its Martorell manufacturing plant, enough, apparently to light up the two cities during the festive period.

The panels cover an area of 135,000sq m including cover for new vehicles parked ready for distribution.
Seat also has plans to cover a further panels at Martorell which will provide 13m kilowatt hours every year.
