Spain’s Seat, part of the Volkswagen group, on Thursday reported an 8% rise in 2004 net profit to €145 million ($US189 million), according to Reuters.
The report said Seat’s revenues climbed to €5.86 billion compared with €5.52 billion a year earlier, even though Seat produced fewer cars in Spain.
Seat’s Spanish plant at Martorell near Barcelona produced 416,381 units during the year, 4.7% fewer than in 2003, Reuters said, adding vehicle sales to the commercial network fell 3.8% to 455,351 units.
