German parts maker Benteler opened a new factory in Vigo, Galicia, on Tuesday, Spanish newswire Europa Press reported.
The report said Benteler invested EUR50m to build the facility, which will make car chassis and axle parts for Citroen, GM, Opel and Ford.
The plant’s capacity rates were not disclosed and Benteler could not be reached for comment.
Benteler reportedly chose Spain over a site in Slovakia because of its proximity to client PSA Peugeot-Citroen’s big Vigo factory.
It will employ 300 people at the site, and has 1,500 workers in eight factories around Spain.
