The continuing crisis in the Spanish car industry will hit this year’s Barcelona Auto Show, with the country’s leading automakers’ association saying its members would not be attending.
ANFAC said today (29 January) that it took its decision at a board meeting yesterday, citing the economic downturn as the reason.
“The reason for this decision is that holding this type of event is not in keeping with the extremely serious situation which the sector is going through,” ANFAC said in a statement.
ANFAC groups companies including General Motors, Ford , Renault , Nissan , PSA Peugeot Citroen and Volkswagen .
The conference organisers have said the event would still take place.
