SsangYong Motor’s CEO, Choi Hyung-tak, has called for a resolution to an on-going disagreement between labour and management, according to the Korea Times.

Choi was appointed in November 2005, by Ssangyong’s largest shareholder, Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp. (SAIC), but the workforce lacks confidence in SAIC.

Unions claim that SAIC is seeking to transfer technology from Ssangyong to China, and lay off employees in South Korea.
