SsangYong Motor has released initial details of a nano tube technology-based innovation for heating and defrosting vehicle glass.

According to the company’s description, a nano tube technology-based high function heat coating is applied to a vehicle’s glass surfaces in the form of an ultra thin film coating. This is for not only side windows but also exterior mirrors. The feature has been applied to the company’s new SIV-1 concept which had its global debut at the recent Geneva motor show.

SsangYong’s system is claimed to remove window frost in cold weather in the shortest time possible. A further claim is made for the ability of the technology to maintain an optimal internal temperature.

While the company is yet to say when the unnamed new product will reach production, the vehicle it displayed it on at Geneva is thought to be the basis for a new SUV to succeed the Actyon.
