SmarTire Systems strategic partner Hyundai Autonet Company has been contracted by Hyundai Motor Corporation to develop commercial vehicle tyre pressure monitoring systems (TPMS).
The development contract will study and validate tyre pressure monitoring on commercial vehicles including trucks and buses in the Korean domestic marketplace. The initial tyre pressure monitoring system will monitor up to 10 wheel positions and provide three warning levels to alert the driver of an under-inflated tyre or a high temperature problem. The system will also indicate which tyre is affected and provide status information.
