Renault Samsung is to halt assembly between 20 and 30 April to cut inventory owing to weak domestic demand for its models.

The company said it had already idled the Busan plant on 6 April and it plans to halt operations again on 11 April so employees can vote in the country’s general election.

The suspension of assembly operations is expected to cut production by around 3,200 vehicles this month. In December the plant was idled for 10 days to shrink inventory.
