The Renault Group will appoint Francois Provost, the company’s deputy managing director in Russia, to head its Samsung Motors unit in South Korea from September 1.
The Korea Herald reported that Provost will replace Renault Samsung’s current CEO Jean-Marie Hurtiger, who has been head of the Seoul office since May 2006.
Since joining the carmaker in 2002, Provost has been directing the Russian unit’s strategy and planning for the commercial division. He was transferred to Moscow in 2010.
Hurtiger, the outgoing CEO, has also been the president of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in Korea since 2008.
