GM Daewoo Auto and Technology will launch its new Gentra sedan in early September. It will be sold in most markets world-wide as a Chevrolet though the Daewoo badge will be retained in Korea.
The Gentra is larger and more refined than outgoing Kalos sedan and, due to enhanced interior design, and comfort and safety features usually found only in larger vehicles, it is now being positioned between traditional small and compact cars.
“The Gentra is the smart choice for those looking for a spacious yet stylish car that combines the attributes of a compact sedan with the price of a small car. We are confident that with this formula, the Gentra will become a success in the domestic market as well as the more than 120 overseas markets in which it will be sold,” GM-Daewoo said in a statement.
The 1.5-litre version made its world debut at Auto Shanghai 2005 in April badged as the Chevrolet Aveo.
