Mitsubishi Motors Corporation will begin a “phased introduction” of imported built-up cars in South Korea from next October.
Initial models are the Lancer Evolution sedan, Outlander SUV, Eclipse sports coupe, Lancer sedan and Pajero SUV.
Sole distributor MMSK is a Japanese/Korean joint venture recently set up by Daewoo Motor Sales, Mitsubishi Corporation and Mitsubishi Corporation (Korea).
It plans to sell 400 units in the first year and increase volume to 3,000 units by 2010.
MMC said it had decided to enter the market because the imported-vehicle segment was growing rapidly.
