Hyundai and Kia are urging their affiliated companies and suppliers to sell a certain number of Kia cars, according to a report in the Korea Times.
The group has told the newspaper that it is an established policy to mobilise all its partners as marketing promoters during a sales slump. The measure involves handing down sales quotas to individuals and departments, and urging employees to buy Kia cars.
One Kia supplier told the newspaper that its quota is to sell one Lotze sedan and one Karens sport utility vehicle by the end of March.
