The Korea Herald reports that importers are lowering their product prices as they benefit from the strengthening won against the dollar.

GM Korea offers a discount of 3 percent on its four 2005 Cadillac models. The American luxury sedans which used to cost between 86 million and 118.5 million won are now available for between 84.2 million and 114.9 million won.

The local arm of General Motors also released on Monday its first Cadillac car tagged at under 50 million won – the 2.8 litre CTS sports sedan.

Ford joined the move by rebating registration tax and acquisition tax for those who buy its main models – the Mondeo sedan and Escape sport utility vehicle – this month, making the cars 7 percent cheaper.
