Hyundai is targeting global sales of nearly 2.7m units this year, according to the Korea Herald.
With the opening of new plants the company plans to produce 922,000 vehicles in its overseas plants, up from 636,000 last year.
The newspaper reported that the company plans to export more expensive vehicles, rather than rely on exports of compact cars. In the US it is planning to increase the proportion of medium or large cars from 60% of sales last year to 68% this year and increase sales to 532,000 units, up 17% on a year ago.
A new Avante, codenamed HD, will be launched in Korea in May and will further contribute to growth.
In Europe Hyundai is targeting sales of 354,000 units, in China 300,000 units and in India 252,000 units.
