The Chosun Ilbo reports that Hyundai Motor’s i10 is a major hit in Germany.
According to the monthly “best-selling model list” compiled by the Germany-based Federal Motor Vehicle Office, or KBA, 3,107 units of i10 were sold in November, beating October’s top seller in the small car segment, the Smart Fortwo. The Smart Fortwo slid to second place, with its sales five percent down from October, the report said.
“New top sellers have emerged in the November lists of medium, large, sedan vehicles as well as light vehicles. This signifies the ever-changing tastes of consumers,” Auto-Presse, a German vehicle news website, said.
Hyundai is in the process of renewing much of its model line. The A-segment i10, sourced from India, has replaced the Amica and the i20, on sale here in the UK from January, is completely new. The C-segment i30, currently sourced from Korea, will shortly switch to a Czech Republic factory which is coming on stream several months early.
