PSA Peugeot Citroen has said it plans to increase its Slovak plant’s daily production due to higher demand for small cars – especially the just launched C3 Picasso – in Western Europe.

It said daily output at its Slovakian plant – which makes the C3 Picasso and Peugeot 207 – will be increased from 850 to 900 units at its Slovak plant from June,

“Government’s incentives provided to car makers in the European countries, especially various ‘green bonuses’, have led to an increased demand for small cars,” Peter Svec from PSA’s plant based in Trnava told AFP.

Citroen has reported strong demand for its C3 Picasso, a small minivan, since its launch in March.
