Kia Motors is looking to construct an engine plant in Slovakia, according to reports. It is thought the investment will total EUR110.5m.
News agency Reuters sourced a Slovakian government document that said the Korean carmaker had applied for a tax break worth EUR15m for the plan.
It is expected that the new plant will add another 150,000 units annually to Kia’s output in Slovakia, which already reaches 300,000 vehicles.
In November, Kia said it was considering investing up to EUR200m in building an engine plant in Slovakia.
