Schaltbau Group is to supply charging infrastructure for Kiel’s e-bus fleet in Germany from mid-2020.
Following a Europe-wide call for tenders with a preliminary competition in spring, 2019, Kieler Verkehrsgesellschaft decided to convert its fleet to all-electric articulated buses.
The order from the City of Kiel comprises charging infrastructure for a total of 36 all-electric articulated buses and installation of 14 charging points, including required adjacent buildings.
“With this order, we are enhancing the Schaltbau Group’s profile as a systems supplier in key future markets such as e-mobility,” said CEO, Albrecht Köhler. “We are leveraging the range of skill and strength gained in 90 years of corporate history.”
The fast-charging stations designed by SBRS, are suitable for both public transport scenarios as well as new mobility applications such as industrial shuttle services.
“We are already looking forward to another record year in the history of our young company,” added SBRS MD, Thomas Milewski.
