King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) has inked an agreement to buy a plot of 225,000 sq m in KAEC’s Industrial Valley to build a plant for Volvo and Renault trucks.

The Saudi Gazette said Zahid Tractor and Heavy Machinery would build the plant expected to manufacture 4,000 trucks a year, create 400 new jobs and occupy an area of 60,000 sq m.

KAEC head Fahd Al-Rasheed said good infrastructure, availability of employee housing, and the direct link to King Abdullah Port made the valley an ideal lcoation for the plant.

“We are working on finishing the factory designs in order to start construction during the first quarter of 2014.”
