The production of tyres for cars in Russia has decreased by 40.3% in the first seven months of the year to 9.761m units, according to Russia’s Federal State Statistics Service.

The decline reflects lower demand from both vehicle manufacturers in Russia and aftermarket tyre distributors.

Data also shows truck tyre output fell 40.9% on the year to 3.815m units in the period.

In 2008, car tyre output in Russia decreased 10.8% on the year to 26.2m units.
