Body-in-white specialist Stadco has named Alexey Ilyin corporate affairs director for Stadco Russia, based in St Petersburg.
The operation was established early in 2006 to support the company’s expansion plans and growth strategy in the fast-growing motor industry there.
The company recently announced major developments in Russia including a unique arrangement with Severstal-Auto and plans to develop and establish new state-of-the-art BIW facilities in the St Petersburg and Moscow regions close to the assembly plants of international OEMs.
“The appointment of Ilyin, who joins Stadco Russia from Rautaruukki Stalservice, further underlines Stadco’s commitment to develop business opportunities in this key new market offering the growing number of international car makers moving into Russia modern, high quality stamping and assembly facilities,” the company said in a statement.
Ilyin, who has previously worked for Scania as production director and has a background in design and production engineering, will provide expert local advice.
