Russian automaker Sollers has signed an agreement with Fiat Group Automobiles to transfer the right to sell and service Fiat cars in Russia starting from 1 January, 2012, the Russian company’s press office said in a statement.
Conditions of the deal were not provided, Prime News reported.
Under the agreement, Fiat Group Automobiles undertakes the guarantee obligations on the total parc of all Fiat cars sold by Sollers through the official dealer network since 2006, as well as supplies of spare parts and servicing.
It intends to restructure Fiat’s dealer network in Russia.
Established in 2002, Sollers controls the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant (UAZ), the Zavolzhsky Engine Plant (ZMZ), Sollers–Yelabuga, Sollers Naberezhniye Chelny, and Sollers-Far East. Sollers produces UAZ, Isuzu, SsangYong and Fiat vehicles.
