Severstal Auto plans to increase its light vehicle output 35% to 135,000 cars in 2008.
The company told Prime-Tass that it plans to produce 71,000 UAZ cars, 7,000 Isuzu cars, 15,000 SsangYong SUVs, 32,000 Fiat cars and 8,000–10,000 Ducato LCVs.
The firm also plans to sell up to 10% of its car output through leasing deals, the company’s General Director Vadim Shvetsov, who holds 58% in the automaker, said.
Severstal Auto, also known as Severstal Avto, was established in March 2002. The company controls Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant (UAZ), Russian compact car producer ZMA and the Zavolzhsky Engine Plant (ZMZ).
