Renault’s joint venture with the Moscow city government, Avtoframos, is planning to increase its output by 25% in 2007 to between 75,000 and 80,000 cars, according to Prime-Tass news agency.

Capacity was raised at the end of 2005 to 60,000 units.

Moscow city mayor Yuri Luzhkov confirmed that talks were currently under way to double capacity of the joint venture to 120,000 cars.

Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn told reporters that the company may start assembling CKD kits at the plant.

Avtoframos started producing Logan cars in Moscow in April 2005, and produced around 10,000 units last year.
