Avtoframos, a joint venture between the Moscow city government and Renault, plans to double annual production capacity to 120,000 cars, the Moscow city department of science and industrial policy told Prime-Tass on Wednesday.

The official decision on increasing production capacities of the company will be made on 14 June at a meeting of Renault general director Carlos Ghosn and Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov.


Avtoframos has produced Renault Logan cars in Moscow since April 2005.


Last year, Avtoframos’ Logan output was about 10,000 units, and in January-March, the company sold about 7,000 cars.
