Ford’s plant is in Vsevolozhsk in the Leningrad Region while Volkswagen has a plant in Kaluga.
Toyota said last week its plant in St Petersburg, which makes the Camry, plans to suspend production from 30 March to 6 April due to the ongoing financial crisis.
The 750 workers will receive two-thirds of their usual pay during the suspension.
