Auto parts maker Lear Corp. is building a factory at Tolyatti in Russia to supply car seats to GM-AvtoVAZ, a newspaper said on Friday, according to Reuters.
America’s third largest car components maker already supplies interior parts to the Gorkovsky (GAZ) factory, where the Volga is made, the report said.
A member of the Tolyatti mayoral office reportedly told business daily Vedomosti Lear will provide seats for two Chevrolet models produced by the joint venture between US car giant General Motors and Russia’s largest carmaker AvtoVAZ.
There was no comment from the two firms.
