AvtoVAZ says Lada sales have increased in Russia for the first time in two years, with April seeing a 7.8% rise compared to 12 months ago and 10.7% more than in March.
Preliminary figures show Lada has a 20% share of the Russian market.
Growth leaders in April were Lada’s Granta, Vesta and XRAY models. The XRAY has significantly improved its position in the light passenger car segment in Russia, by moving from 23rd to 14th place (estimated).
“LADA Granta taking back its leading position in the rating of the most popular car in Russia is no surprise,” said acting executive vice president of AvtoVAZ for sales and marketing, Vitaliy Osipov.
“It is the result of accumulated deferred demand for this model that we support from our side by an attractive promotion action under the Lada finance programme, which provides additional benefits for buying this car.
“We also see continuous growth in popularity of Lada`s new generation models Vesta and XRAY, which are still one of the best `price/equipment` offers in their segments.”
