Russia’s Kremlin Business and Financial Department has bought 100 Ford Focus cars, produced in the Leningrad region, a Presidential Administration spokesman said, according to the Prime-Tass news agency.

The spokesman said the cars were purchased at “lower than the average market price.”

The Presidential Administration car fleet currently consists of 3,000 vehicles of 10 different makes and will be reorganized in 2003 to consist of only BMW models, Fords and Volga E-class cars, produced by Russia’s second-largest car maker OAO GAZ, the news agency said.
