Russian sales by Kia Motors rose to 27,900 vehicles in January-June, from about 9,621 vehicles in the same period last year, distributor SOKia said on Thursday.


Separately, Skoda was reported to have boosted first half sales by 80% to 5,886 units.


The most popular Kia model this year was the Spectra, with 11,241 cars sold.


IzhAvto, part of SOK Group and based in Izhevsk in the constituent republic of Udmurtia, assembles the cars locally.


The Ceratos and Rio were the most popular imported models, with 3,311 and 2,643 cars sold, respectively.
