Russia’s largest truck manufacturer Kamaz has resumed production after it was suspended on February 2 due to sharply falling domestic and foreign sales, Kamaz said in a statement.

The company previously suspended production for two weeks in November 2008 and for 30 days from December 19, 2008.

Kamaz produced 51,005 vehicles in 2008, almost flat on the year, and plans to produce 47,000 trucks this year under an optimistic forecast, the company said earlier.

A company representative also told news agency Prime-Tass that Kamaz expects to make a record loss of 1.5bn roubles this year.
