The output of Russia’s Rostov Region-based Taganrog Automobile Plant, or TagAZ, climbed 77.7% on the year to 6,226 cars in January-March, according to data released by the Rostov Regional Statistics Service on Tuesday.
According to the Prime-Tass news agency, In March, TagAZ, which is part of the Doninvest trade and industrial group, produced 3,100 cars, up 79.3% on the year and 3.3% on the month.
According to the company’s press service, in January-March the plant sold 6,969 cars. No comparisons were provided.
This includes 5,564 Hyundai Accent cars, up 78% on the year, and 1,405 Hyundai Sonata cars. No comparisons were provided for the Sonata.
TagAZ has been producing Hyundai Accent sedans since 2001, and Hyundai Sonata EF models since April 2004.
