The previous-generation Dodge Sebring to be built in Russia from next March is to get a locally-made diesel engine option.


Prime-Tass reported on Wednesday that GAZ Group, which bought the Sebring tooling from Chrysler, plans to set up facilities to make diesel engines for cars.


The report said GAZ plans to equip the Siber cars with the diesel engines, as well as other cars produced by its companies, Kulgan said.


GAZ Group comprises major car and truck maker GAZ, Pavlovsky Avtobus, or PAZ, Golitsyno Bus Plant, or GolAZ, Kanashsky auto plant, Saransk Dump Truck Plant, Likino Bus Plant, or LiAZ, Kurgan Bus Plant, or KAVZ, Yaroslavl Motor plant and Yaroslavl Fuel Equipment Plant, the Russian news agency said.
