Ford’s Russian plant has resumed production after a scheduled corporate summer vacation.
The resumption will be seen as a positive sign, as a number of manufacturers have extended summer breaks in the face of a depressed Russian car market which is running at around half of last year’s level.
Ford’s St Petersburg plant suspended production on July 20.
The plant assembles Ford Focus and Ford Mondeo cars. In June, the plant introduced a four-day working week in order to avoid personnel cuts amid falling car sales.
