Daimler is seeking to increase its stake in Russian truckmaker Kamaz beyond its current 11%, the Interfax news agency quoted state official Sergei Chemezov, head of state corporation Russian Technologies, which owns 49.9% of Kamaz. Daimler increased its stake from 10% earlier this year.

Its partnership with Kamaz is one of the three strongest ties between Russian automakers and foreign manufacturers, alongside AvtoVAZ with Renault and Sollers with Fiat. Kamaz expects the Russian truck market to grow 16.6% this year.
