Sales, aftersales and warranty for Fiat passenger cars and Fiat Professional light commercial vehicles in Russia are now managed by Chrysler Group’s national sales company, CJSC Chrysler Rus, the automaker said on Thursday (2 February).

The previous distribution deal involving Sollers, OJSC and Fiat Automobiles, was relinquished in July 2011, effective 1 January 2012.

“This strategic move follows the dealer meeting which took place in Moscow at the end of 2011,” Fiat said in a statement.

“The meeting was an opportunity for new Fiat dealer candidates to appreciate the potential business opportunities in the Russian Federation arising from the global alliance between Fiat and Chrysler and to fully understand the product portfolio of the brands currently sold on the Russian market, namely: Fiat, Fiat Professional, Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge.”

About 103 dealers have signed a new agreement covering sales and aftersales service.

Several Fiat and Fiat Professional (light commercial) model launches are planned for the region in 2012.

CJSC Chrysler Rus also sells and services Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles.
