In April, AvtoVAZ employees who directly participate in automobile production will work two six-hour shifts four days per week, while employees involved in pilot production will work two eight-hour shifts four days per week, according to Prime-Tass.
The plant is not expected to work in the period from May 1 until May 12. After that, employees who directly participate in the production of Lada Priora, Lada Kalina, Lada Samara, and Lada 2105/2107 cars will work two six-hour shifts four days per week. Employees taking part in the production of Lada 4×4 cars will work two eight-hour shifts five days per week. Employees involved in pilot production will work two eight-hour shifts four days per week.
All other personnel will not work in April-May and will receive two-thirds of their monthly salaries.
In February and March, AvtoVAZ suspended production several times due to difficulties with component supplies. It also maintained a shortened work schedule.
Between February to March, it produced 65,000 cars after shutting down its plant in January for an extended Christmas break to cope with slackening demand.
