AvtoVAZ is planning to build a minivan based on Renault’s Logan model according to a Russian newspaper.


The daily Vedomosti reported that the plan is for Renault to help the company produce around 90,000 units a year of a Logan-based compact MPV.


The report cited remarks by unnamed AvtoVAZ officials.


Under the terms of Renault’s cooperation with AvtoVAZ, AvtoVAZ is to renew and expand its vehicle range with Renault’s assistance.


AvtoVAZ and Renault will share know-how and technology particularly in relation to manufacturing and marketing.
