Russia’s largest car manufacturer, AvtoVAZ, has proposed abolishing the customs duty on imports of tyres used for industrial assembly, the Economic Development Ministry said, citing the company’s application.
AvtoVAZ has also proposed retaining the customs duty on imports of other tyres at 20% of the custom value, but not less than EUR6.90 per tyre, the ministry told Prime-Tass.

Industrial assembly rights, introduced in 2005, eliminate or substantially reduce import duties on foreign vehicle components for ‘industrial assembly’ facilities that have an annual output of at least 25,000 vehicles.
