Russia’s largest car manufacturer AvtoVAZ expects to increase its sales 6% year on year to more than 768,000 units in 2007, the company’s press office told a news agency on Thursday.

Of the total, AvtoVAZ plans to sell about 660,000 units in Russia in 2007 and export about 108,000 cars, Prime-Tass reported.
AvtoVAZ is the largest car manufacturer in Russia and Eastern Europe in terms of output and currently produces about 70% of Russia’s domestic passenger cars and accounts for 40%-42% of total passenger car sales in terms of volume.
In January-November, AvtoVAZ increased its domestic sales 4.4% year on year to over 600,000 cars and exported over 98,000, up 8.1%, Prime-Tass added.
