Russia’s largest carmaker AvtoVAZ has reported its sales in 2013 were down by 12% to 535,000 vehicles.
Of that total, some 456,000 vehicles were sold on the domestic market, 15% down on 2012’s total. The Russian car market declined in 2013 as the economy stuttered and consumer confidence waned.
AvtoVAZ also reported a net loss of 2.6bn roubles in the first half of 2013 (which compares with a net profit of 27.4bn roubles in the first half of 2012).
