Avtotor is in negotiations with three further international auto manufacturers to produce cars from its plants, according to reports.
News agency Prime-Tass quoted the Russian company’s CEO Valery Gorbunov as saying that he would not specify which vehicle manufacturers he was in talks with.
Earlier this month, it was reported in just-auto that GM and Avtotor were opening a new plant in Kaliningrad (a Russian enclave on the Baltic) that will produce Chevrolet Lacetti cars.
General Motors Daewoo Auto and Technology and Avtotor signed the agreement to set up the plant in December 2006.
The production capacity of the plant is expected to amount to 15,000 Chevrolet Lacettis per year.
