Renault’s joint venture with the Moscow city government, Avtoframos, increased output 50% year on year to 72,762 Logans in 2007, Renault Russia said on Monday.
Avtoframos has increased annual production capacity to 80,000 cars, a spokesman told Prime-Tass. The company is expected to increase capacity to 160,000 from 2009, according to earlier reports.
Of 101,166 sales last year, Renault sold 67,844 Logan, 16,045 Megane and 9,260 Symbol models.
Avtoframos has produced Renault Logan cars in Moscow since April 2005.
Renault last week announced a programme to recall early-build Russian and Romanian-made Logans for rust-proofing and water sealing modifications.
