Prime-TASS News reports that Moscow-based carmaker Avtoframos may widen the range of Renault models it produces at its Moscow plant. The report cited remarks by the company’s Deputy Director George Scheillein.
Avtoframos plans to start assembling the Renault Logan at its Moscow-based facilities in the middle of 2005, but other models could be added.
Avtoframos is expected to initially produce 60,000 Renault Logans per year, while the plant’s annual production is to increase to 100,000 cars by 2010, a company official said earlier this year.
Renault controls 76% in Avtoframos, while the Moscow municipal city authority holds 24% in the company.
